About this job

About the role

Your work days are brighter here.

You'll join the Sales Development team, part of Workday's Field Sales organization. This team builds the quality pipeline that powers Workday's growth, partnering closely with Account Executives to identify, engage, and develop relationships with future customers across target accounts. It's a great place to grow: you'll be part of Workday's collaborative culture from day one, and the role offers a clear path to build foundational sales skills and advance your career within the broader sales organization.

As a Sales Development Representative, you will deploy multi-channel prospecting strategies and partner with Account Executives to build and advance quality opportunities for the Workday sales team. You will connect with potential customers, share Workday's value, and uncover what matters most to each prospect and their organization.

What you will do

  • Deploying multi-channel prospecting strategies across target accounts, including phone, email, social selling, and in-person events
  • Partnering with Account Executives to build and advance quality opportunities for Workday field sales
  • Contacting potential customers, sharing Workday's value, and uncovering prospects' needs and organizational challenges
  • Identifying and qualifying potential buyers to help generate a healthy, growing pipeline
  • Nurturing and developing relationships between prospective accounts and the broader Workday team
  • Responding to and qualifying marketing qualified leads in a timely, effective manner
  • Staying organized while managing multiple prospecting activities and accounts at the same time

What you bring

Sales Development Representative (S2)

  • 1+ years of professional or industry-related experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 2+ years of professional or industry-related experience where a Bachelor’s degree is not present.
  • Experience in SDR, BDR, prospecting, inside sales, business development, marketing, direct sales, or consulting.

Senior Sales Development Representative (S3)

  • 2+ years of direct software, SaaS, or technology sales experience, or equivalent business-to-business prospecting experience
  • Building Pipeline: Experience identifying potential leads, nurturing them through early-stage engagement, and growing a consistent pipeline through outreach activities
  • Relationship Building: Experience establishing genuine connections with prospects and internal teammates through clear communication and trust
  • Business Acumen: Experience learning customer environments, market trends, and organizational landscapes to position Workday effectively in prospecting conversations
  • Value Propositions: Experience identifying and communicating the unique value of a solution in ways that resonate with different audiences and address customer needs
  • Credibility: Experience building confidence with prospects and partners through consistency, honesty, and continued learning
  • Familiarity with sales tools such as Salesforce, Clari Groove, and ZoomInfo
  • SaaS sales experience

Where and how you work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

  • Are you being referred to one of our roles? If so, ask your connection at Workday about our Employee Referral process!
  • Please be aware of sites that may ask for you to input your data in connection with a job posting that appears to be from Workday but is not.
